Technical Certificate 6129:
Apprenticeships for students employed and working in the industry. This course consists of the 6129 Technical Certificate, the NVQ 6089 in Plumbing and, where necessary, Key Skills.
This course is College based offers the underpinning practical and technical knowledge for a level 3 qualification in Plumbing.
NVQ 6089:
This qualification requires you to provide work based evidence and therefore you must be employed and working in the plumbing industry to achieve the full qualification.
To successfully achieve you will be asked to demonstrate on site competence of the NVQ Level 3 Plumbing criteria. The NVQ qualification consists of a fully completed NVQ portfolio together with external assessment in Gas ACS: CCN1 and CEN1, water regulations and unvented hot water.

Course content:
Technical Certificate 6129:
The course, when studied on a part time basis, will last for 4 terms and you must fully achieve all assessments which consist of Plumbing, Central Heating and gas appliance practical tasks and 10 on line theory tests.

Assessment: Technical Certificate 6129 :
You must fully achieve all assessments which consist of Plumbing, Central Heating and gas appliance practical tasks and also 10 on line theoretical multiple choice tests.
NVQ 6089:
To successfully achieve you will be asked to demonstrate on site competence of the NVQ level 3 Plumbing criteria. The NVQ qualification consists of a fully completed NVQ portfolio together with external assessment (please note external assessment fees are additional to college fees) in Gas ACS: CCN1 and CEN1, water regulations, unvented hot water and NVQ site inspections..

Students should ensure that they have obtained any accessories necessary to enable them to carry out any college based course activities prior to the start of the course.

Qualification in Context and Future Opportunities: 6132 Certificate in Domestic Natural Gas Installation and Maintenance level 2. OR Gas ACS (Towards CORGI registration), Water regulations, Unvented hot water qualification, Solar energy, etc.
