Description:
The IMI certificate in service and repair of light vehicles is also endorsed as a technical certificate by MITC. It is designed to satisfy the theory component of the national vocational qualification level 2 in vehicle maintenance and repair and also satisfies the requirements of the modern apprenticeship framework. There are 11 modules to complete which include all of the modules in the level 1 technical certificate plus the greater depth units of vehicle chassis (level 2), engines (level 2), transmissions (level 2) and electrical systems (level 2). At least half of the course involves practical work on vehicles. Assessment is through coursework, written tests and practical tasks.
