Introduction
This BTEC WorkSkills short course aims to help delegates to approach interview preparation and being interviewed with greater confidence. This workshop focuses on the interview skills required for a job but could also be used for college or university applications or joining a club or society. Delegates are encouraged to consider their past performance and then explore the steps they need to take to prepare for a job interview, taking into account lessons learnt from previous experience. Delegates will also have a clear understanding of how to improve their interview technique.

At the end of the workshop delegates will be able to: Reflect on their previous interview performance Explain what employers expect from interview candidates Prepare for interview questions and plan appropriate answers for a specific job role Recognise the value of different types of presentation required at interviews Demonstrate appropriate behaviours for interviews Review their interview performance and make improvements where needed.

Duration
Two days or 2 consecutive Saturdays (dates available on request)

Method of Study
Workshops with a mix of taught sessions and practical tasks with a formal assessment at the end. This will include a short written assignment, an interview checklist, role play and self evaluation/personal improvement plan.
