Teaching Numeracy Level 5 Additional Diploma
The qualification is designed to enable candidates to:
  • adopt an integrated approach to the theory and practice of teaching

  • develop an awareness of their professional role and responsibilities

    Course Content:
    The qualification is made up of 2 mandatory modules:
  • Approaches to mathematics learning and teaching
  • Theories and frameworks for mathematics teaching and learning
  • It requires candidates to submit evidence of 75 hours teaching across a minimum of 2 levels and be observed 4 times in addition to producing a portfolio of evidence for the 2 modules.

    City & Guilds.

    Entry Requirements:
    • Candidates must have personal mathematics skills at Level 3 or above and be qualified or working towards full teaching qualification in the lifelong learning sector

    Entrance onto the course will be subject to an interview and initial assessment.
