About this course

Applicants should have two Standard Grades at Level 3 or above. Students without any formal qualifications but with life experience and a demonstrable interest in children's learning and development will also be considered for entry.

Progression Opportunities:
On successful completion of this course, you may apply for Intermediate 2 Early Education & Childcare or NC Early Education & Child Care. Students may gain the confidence to progress onto other areas of further study, as this is a popular course for those returning to education.

Career Potential:
Students can apply to local authority education departments to work as a classroom assistant within a school.

Course Assessment:
Students are assessed in a continuous way. This means that you are encouraged to demonstrate your learning on a regular basis throughout the course. This course is assessed in a variety of ways, ranging from projects to practical work with children.
