About this course
At least 5 GCSEs at grade C or above and pass an audition workshop. We are looking for lively, interesting people who enjoy working with others and are prepared to work hard.

Aim This 2 year qualification will appeal to you if you wish to develop a deeper understanding of dance, drama and theatre. It combines the development of acting and dance skills and combines theory with practical with an emphasis on developing strong performance skills.
There will be many opportunities to visit theatres from the West End to the RSC at Stratford and watch professional theatre companies regularly performing in-house at either of our two theatre venues. You will also have the opportunity to take masterclasses with professional performers from stage and screen.
Content The qualification is made up of the following core units:
· Performance workshop
· The performing arts
· The performing arts in context
· Rehearsing
· Performing (a major project).
Specialist units may include:
· TV and film acting
· Acting
· Theatre in education
· Physical theatre
· Musical theatre.
Assessment is continuous throughout the course with written assignments, practical tasks and portfolio work. All units are assessed and graded and an overall grade for the qualification is awarded.
Additional Qualifications Compulsory
LAMDA - preparing audition monologues or duologues.
Progression/career opportunities Successful completion of this course prepares you for employment within the industry or if you wish to continue with your studies you can progress on to degree subjects such as Performing Arts, Performance Design or Management for Media Performance.
Screening
Students will also be screened (in the College) and must achieve literacy and numeracy at the level appropriate to the course.
