Performing Engineering Operations Level 1

Course Aims:
This is a full-time practical engineering course designed to give students basic engineering skills. It is primarily a course for students wishing to progress onto Level 2 in either engineering or technology. Students will use skills requiring the ability to use their hands in an engineering environment, interpret from drawings and document their work.

Course Content:
Students will study a range of subject areas including:

- Engineering processes
- Safe working practices
- Machining and Fitting
- Sheet metal fabrication
- Welding Processes including MIG and oxy-acetylene

Progression:
On successful completion of the course you may progress to the Performing Engineering Operations NVQ Level 2 or other suitable Level 2 courses.

City & Guilds

Exam:
Product Evidence from Practical Work and Portfolio.

Professional Appearance:
Navy blue overalls and steel toe capped boots must be worn during all practical sessions.
