Description:
This course is designed to give you the right foundations for a career in electrical engineering. It will give you the essential practical experience necessary for more advanced courses. The core subjects of the course include: working safely in an industrial environment, developing yourself, and working with other people on engineering activities. The electrical engineering option for this course consists of: wiring and testing electrical circuits, and building and testing electronic circuits.

As well as the practical experience that you will learn on the NVQ course, you will also have opportunity to study the electrical theory contained in either the City & Guilds 6983, City & Guilds 2800, BTEC First Diploma Electrical/ Electronics, BTEC National Certificate Electrical/ Electronics or City & Guilds 6958. C&G 2330 level 2 year 1/2

Progression:
Employment and/or continue studying at college.

Entry Requirements:
None but GCSE qualifications would be useful. Anyone with an interest in engineering.

Campus : - City of Newport Campus - Ebbw Vale - Crosskeys

Mode of attendance:
3/4 days per week for 1 year or Day release for 1 day per week for 1 year
