There are no requirements for prior learning to the qualification, but it is important that the candidates†physical and mental facility to perform and extend existing skills, are sufficient for them to complete the assessments. Who The Course is for
This course is aimed at students of all ages who seek an Entry Level programme that will:
- Assist candidates in personal and work related skills
- Develop personal and inter-personal skills
- Develop an awareness of the need to operate safely in a particular environment
- Provide opportunities for experiential learning
- Provide motivation and recognition of progress and achievement through a programme of structured assessment
- Develop mental and physical coordination, dexterity, mobility and build confidence
- Provide the necessary skills towards living independently and being part of the community.
Course Content
The Personal Progress qualification enables students to progress in line with their own development. Students start with the Award and on completion progress to the Certificate and finally to the Diploma in Personal Progress.
Entry RequirementsLearning & Assessment Methods
Students will be assessed throughout the duration of the course. Due to the varying needs of its target group, there are no mandatory units within this qualification. Each level has a credit value and students are required to achieve the required number at each level.
Award - 8 credits
Certificate - 14 credits
Diploma - 37 credits
Students will achieve certification on successful completion of each level.
The nature of the qualification enables us to select a variety of approaches that are most suitable to the individual in order to enhance the learners' experience.
Qualifications Gained
Achievement at Entry 1 recognises progress along a continuum that ranges from the most elementary of achievements to beginning to make use of skills, knowledge or understanding that relate to the immediate environment.

Progression Opportunities
There are several ways in which candidates are able to progress which would equally apply:
- a candidate could make progress laterally by increasing the number of skills acquired (units) within an Entry Level at Entry 1, Entry 2 or Entry 3
- a candidate could progress incrementally from Entry 1 to Entry 2 to Entry 3
- a candidate could make progress at the same level, but continue to practice the activity by repetition thereby increasing the range of circumstances in which the activities can be carried out
