Course programme

The 11-18 PGCE in MFL is an innovative and intensive nine month course preparing graduates for the demands of teaching the 11-18 age range in the Secondary sector. The PGCE in MFL will provide student teachers with an appropriate knowledge of a range of theories and experiences in practical teaching situations to allow pupils to achieve their potential in MFL and develop a love of languages. You will be awarded a PGCE and recommended for Qualified Teacher Status, enabling you to teach in schools on completion of the course. The course is organised in partnership with schools around Kent and Medway (where undertaken in Canterbury), where you will spend 24 out of the 36 weeks teaching in two different schools.
