English and Maths at GCSE (grade C or above) or equivalent for Secondary (14-19). To have passed the government's skills tests in literacy and numeracy.A commitment to becoming the best teacher you can be, with a minimum of 10 days recent experience in a UK secondary school. If you cannot spend the full 10 days in a secondary school prior to application we can still consider your application as long as you have spent 5 days in a secondary classroom. If you are successful in being offered a place on the course the additional 5 days would be a condition of your offer and would need to be undertaken prior to starting on the course. Course programme

The 14-19 PGCE in Psychology is an innovative and intensive nine month course preparing graduates for the demands of teaching the 14-19 age range in the Secondary and Further Education sectors. The PGCE psychology will allow student teachers to become outstanding, inspiring educators who think critically about what this entails. Candidates will be awarded a PGCE and recommended for Qualified Teacher Status, enabling them to teach in schools. The course is also designed to provide a strong foundation for working in the Lifelong Learning sector, especially FE. The course is organised in partnership with Schools and Further Education colleges where student teachers spend 24 out of the 36 weeks teaching.
