About this course
Ideally, you will need to have a GCSE grade C/4 or above in English and maths. You must normally be employed for at least 30 hours per week, within your chosen industry. If you don’t have an employer then please contact Leicester College’s Apprenticeship Training Agency who may be able to help you or you can search for apprenticeship vacancies online at

Course programme
Year 1
You will need to complete three mandatory units and a minimum of four units demonstrating competency in the workplace. Observation will be required by your assessor to show competency. Written evidence will also be needed to demonstrate knowledge and understanding as well as reflective accounts of your working practice. In addition, there will be a minimum of six assignments to complete as part of your technical certificate. You will sit functional skills exams in maths and English if required.
