Photographic Course for Forensic & Collision Investigators

Park Cameras, in partnership with Nikon and the Institute of Traffic Accident Investigators (ITAI), has created a course bespoke to the needs of ITAI members.

Through attending this course, members of the ITAI and other forensic bodies will be better placed not only to record the necessary elements of any accident but also be in a position to support such evidence through the backing of an accredited scheme. Utilising both our Education Suite at Park Cameras and relevant field-based scenarios, this photography course looks to deliver the following elements to ITAI and other forensic group members:

  • Exposure Modes - program, shutter, aperture priority & manual
  • Focusing - Manual focus point selection vs. automatic
  • ISO / Film speed selection & exposure compensation
  • Understanding lens focal lengths / magnification factors
  • Composition
  • Flash photography
  • Macro Photography
  • Night time Photography
  • Audit trails
  • Work flow.

The content of this dedicated course ensures that upon completion members will be armed with both the photographic knowledge and ability to produce accurate images in conjunction with the specific and bespoke requirements of individual traffic accident and other forensic scenarios.

The course itself involves modular-based course learning over a 6 week period undertaken at Park Cameras Showroom in Burgess Hill, on location and also remotely via Moodle, the online community learning tool.

This course is jointly accredited by Nikon UK & the ITAI. The course concludes with an exam at the end and meets the ITAI's requirement of its members to undertake Continuous Professional Development this course is a must, ensuring the effective development of individuals within the role.
