The course is for people with a keen interest in photography. To start the course, you need 4 GCSEs (grade A-C) and a portfolio of work.

What will you be learning?
The course will introduce you to ways of looking at photographs and you will be given a historical overview of photography. You will study 3 units per year, some are coursework units where you carry out research and experimentation, others are controlled tests where you will work independently and demonstrate skills in the research, planning and production of images. Throughout the course, you will keep a workbook which should contain evidence of research and planning and a thorough investigation of the theme(s) we are working with, notes on your response to images, notes from gallery visits, rough prints and sketches.
What happens when you have finished?
After completing the 2-year course, you can progress onto an HND or Degree course or pursue a career as a freelance photographer, photojournalist or photographic assistant.
