Course programme

Taught in our high-spec studios and on location, by the end of the course you will have a strong, individual portfolio reflecting your personal approach to your photojournalism work.

Photography can communicate new stories compellingly and with urgency. This inspiring and intensive course will enable you to develop your technical skills whilst giving you a sound introduction to the field of photojournalism and documentary photography. You will be taught how to capture a situation so it tells a news story through a series of images.

The focus is on creating new work as well as selecting and presenting existing work. By the end of the course you will have created a sound portfolio you can use to support an application for a photojournalism or documentary photography degree.

You will receive individual tuition on the content and presentation of your portfolio. A key part of the course is presenting your work for feedback and questions from your classmates. In return you will learn appropriate ways to critique other students' work.

Please note this course is suitable for you if you are applying for further study at LCC, but does not guarantee entry.
