The best part of studying here was getting to know people from different background and cultures. I really like learning from students with other cultures - and having a better outlook on things I hadn’t considered in the past.
← | →
-
I chose this course since it offers a unique balance between consultancy and Human Resource Management. The training and development, and consulting life cycle modules specifically stood out to me as I believe they will provide me with the consultancy skills required to offer clients career development and coaching packages in my incoming career.

We learnt the skills not just in theory but also in practice. Also, we had the chance to visit top companies.

Clinical Physiotherapy is a great course at Coventry. Members of staff are on hand whenever you need them. The level of group work can be daunting at first but it is extremely valuable and provides you with skills along the way that you didn't realise you were picking up, there are also some extremely high marks to be earnt if you give enough time and effort to it. You will be presented with three different cases of diseases based around the respiratory system, cardiovascular system along with a final neurophysiological section. You will be assessed for each. The first is summative and consists of a presentation, second is formative and a presentation along with a full scientific leaflet, finally a A1 poster presentation presented in an open area of the university to your tutors along with anyone else who choses to join such as the head of school or the dean. This module can be very enjoyable and fulfilling with physical proof at the end of our hard work. Marks and feedback are also release extremely quickly which is always a positive thing!

The University is giving us the opportunity to visit plenty of exhibitors, work placements, and useful working skills. Careers department staff is extremely kind and helpful. The Students' Union is awsome. It is great, we have a nice support center located in the library, but the feedback is not complete by some of the tutors. A huge volunteering part and a lot of activities in Coventry.

The university experience has been great so far, I am in my second year and i am really enjoying my studies. The tutors are great as well as the university facilities. They offer support with my CV and cover letters and also make practice work interviews. university’s facilities are amazing offering everything a student needs to focus on their studies. Tutors are well prepared to answer any questions and always give useful feedback, they also offer extra support sessions for those falling behind. Very good support offered.

Studying at Coventry has been a great experienceswith knowledge attained unsurpassed due to continual industry demand adaptation. I have made so many new friends. The employability service offered within faculty also offering advice on Curriculum Vitae requirements plus lectures on numerical testing or other criteria for industry demand. Excellent ex industry lecturers and up to date technology to utilise in order to understand course material. The online course material provided via Moodle is very useful. Excellent facilities in a state of the art building only recently constructed to meet student demand and in line with industry demand. Academically support is great and extra sessions is always encouraged to ensure student understanding of course material. As for my experience with the counselling services, they have been of great support and excellent as well for guidance on exam stress or other concerns.

My research aims to identify factors that affect the employment choices of migrants. I'm looking at the British-Pakistani men in particular because almost 25% of British-Pakistani men in UK choose to drive taxis. There is also the debate about how free are people to choose their life options given the kind of ethnic backgrounds they are from, the gender, the class they belong to. So, it is a overarching question of structure and agency that I'm trying to answer through the case study of Pakistani men. In the first year you have to go through 3 modules. One is the philosophy behind the social science research. The second module that we do is one on research methods which is qualitative and quantitative. The third thing is we do a module called Understanding your Discipline and it's about understanding the different key readings in our discipline and critiquing them
