About this course
You will need to have completed a minimum of one year in personal therapy before beginning the programme. This may be individual or group. However, you will need to complete one year in a psychotherapy group with a WPF Therapy approved therapist before starting your first training group, and a total of 4 years in group psychotherapy before you will be eligible for UKCP registration.

Postgraduate Diploma / MA in Group-Analytic Psychotherapy
This course is modular and students can enrol at three points in the year:
March, October or January.
Qualification
The programme leads to UKCP registration in the Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Section as a group-analytic psychotherapist. After qualification you will also be a member of FPC, the graduate body of WPF Therapy trainees. After qualifying as a group psychotherapist you are eligible for the MA in Group Psychotherapy (validated by Roehampton University) upon successful completion of a dissertation.
Course description
The selection process will consist of two interviews. The structure of the Programme is as below. Some aspects may be APEL'd (i.e. you may seek accreditation of prior experience and learning). The programme is intended to be flexible for those who are working or who may already have substantial experience.

Supervision will take place a the supervisor's consulting room and the fee is payable directly to the supervisor. The cost of supervision is not included in the course fee. Seminars will take place at WPF Therapy. The fee payable to WPF Therapy will depend on how many modules are being taken by the student.
Assessment
Two written assignments are required.
• One is a theoretical paper on a topic related to group-analytic psychotherapy. This paper, of 3000 - 5000 words in length, is presented in the eighth and ninth term (year three of the theoretical seminars).
• A second written assignment, a clinical paper of 5000 - 8000 words, based on clinical material from the student's training group, must be presented within twelve months of completing the seminars and supervision.
Selection criteria and application
Personal group psychotherapy
Trainees must be in at least once-weekly group-analytic psychotherapy throughout their training. Applicants need to be established in their own therapy by the beginning of the course, with a Psychotherapist approved by WPF Therapy. WPF Therapy Group Psychotherapy is a founder member of EGATIN (European Group-Analytic Training Institutions Network).
Applicants should provide:
• A completed application form (to be obtained from WPF Therapy)
• A curriculum vitae
• A statement giving relevant experience of groupwork and reasons
why they wish to train as a Group-Analytic Psychotherapist
• A personal statement which should include significant life
experiences or events
• The name of two referees.
