Practical Computing - Intermediate

This course is suitable for those who wish to learn some more practical skills, an ideal progression from the beginners class.

It would be useful if you have completed the beginners course, but this course is still suitable for beginners as long as you have knowledge of the keyboard and mouse functions

You will learn to enhance the look of your documents by using more of the features included in Word. You will be able to learn more about some of the other programs offered by Microsoft Office.

The following may be included in the course:

Enhance Word documents by adding tables, bullets etc.

File management - creating folders for your documents.

Creating spreadsheets and using basic formulas in EXCEL.

Using a digital camera.

Use PowerPoint to produce a slideshow including animation and photographs.

The course content may vary accoring to which tutor is teaching the couse and also the content may be adapted to meet the needs of the class.

Course materials will be provided.

However you will need to bring your own memory stick. If you do not have one you may be able to purchase one from the tutor at a cost of approx £6.00. Please ensure you bring sufficient money for this at the first lesson, other wise you will not be able to save your work. You will also need an A4 folder to keep your work book in.

There are no formal assessments.

Advice and guidance will be given during the course on further learning opportunities.
