Primarily aimed at those with extensive experience in immediate care this course will develop and enhance the necessary skills to deal with all medical and other emergencies encountered in all fields of pre-hospital medicine.

Course programme
Awarded jointly by BASICS and the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh these fully residential 3 day courses are open to anyone who may have to deal with emergency situations including General Practitioners, Practice Nurses, Emergency Services Personnel, Paramedics, Voluntary Aid Society Members and those involved in Sports Medicine. As well as the joint organisation with the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh there is input from Ambulance Service Paramedics and the RCN A&E Nurses Forum. These courses, which lead to the Certificate in Pre-Hospital Care, cover all aspects of emergency care in a pre-hospital setting including Medical, Obstetric, Paediatric, as well as Trauma Emergencies and Incident Management.
The certificate is awarded to participants who successfully complete the course and pass the examination on the final day.
