PRINCE2® Overview

Introduction:

Designed for project managers, project leaders and project coordinators who wish to gain the basic level recognition of their skills by taking the PRINCE2® Foundation examination.

The PRINCE2® qualification is now established as an external competence measure by leading organisations around the world. Following the standard syllabus issued by the PRINCE2® Examinations Board, it focuses on the PRINCE2® framework, components, processes and techniques.

Pre-course work
Prior to training, delegates should have completed their pre-course study pack.

Course Aims:

• To pass the Foundation exam
• To absorb and understand PRINCE2® to Foundation level

Objectives:
By the end of the course delegates will be able to:

• Understand the need for project management and how PRINCE2 meets that requirement
• Understand the PRINCE2 process model and apply the PRINCE2 processes
• Prepare project plans using product based planning techniques
• Undertake risk analysis and risk management for the project
• Prepare information for inclusion in the Project Initiation Documentation
• Understand and apply techniques for the management of product development, quality control and change control
• Take the PRINCE2 Foundation examination papers.

Content:

The course will cover, in detail:
Each of the 7 PRINCE2 Processes, 7 Themes and 7 Principles described in the manual. Various case studies, with individual and syndicate work being used to apply the principles and techniques being taught. Sample examination papers, hints, tips and exam preparation PRINCE2 Foundation exam "Trainer was authoritative, demonstrative, relaxed. Could not be better, excellent in every aspect."

THE EXAMS
Foundation [Note: You must pass the Foundation exam before you are allowed to take the Practitioner exam].

Multiple choice paper

Closed book (i.e. no other material allowed in the classroom)

A total of 75 questions, need 50% to pass.

Course includes: Exam fee, pre-course study guide, PRINCE2 manual, refreshments and buffet lunch.
