Course programme
You will learn about: media theory and research techniques; journalism; page layout and design; desktop publishing; photography; factual writing for print; and marketing & public relations In addition, students will study and take an exam in at least one functional skill (English, maths or ICT)
How will I be assessed?You will be continually assessed with practical and written assessments, group projects and production work All units of work are graded, and determine an overall grade for the qualification
What may it lead to?This is an excellent route into a Creative Media & Design course in Higher Education (degree-level) It also provides a route into employment in the creative industries
Entry RequirementsYou should have: five GCSES at grade C (ideally English and Art) / a Level 2 Diploma (Merit) / or an equivalent qualification Entry onto the course is subject to an interview
Additional Information & Other CostsAs part of the programme, we offer an exciting range of academic trips related to media There are competitive work placement programmes available for suitably motivated students (with broadcasters such as ITV and kmfm Digital) The College will work with students to find work experience
