The College uses a professional etching press and encourages experimentation with a wide range of techniques including engraving, monoprinting, silkscreen, wood and lino cutting and even photocopying. Some of these may be combined within the same image allowing unique effects to be created. Both the working through of a process and the handling of raw materials give rise to new ideas which have their effects in the finished expression of a subject. These individual images diversify the students work and the experience feeds into other areas of art and design. Suitable for: We believe that the most important qualification for our courses is enthusiasm for the subject, a desire to learn creative talent. We have students who are at varying levels; some are beginner while others already work in the industry. At the end of your course we would expect you to have a level 3 qualification.

Course programme

Printmaking

explores techniques developed through the need to generate multiple images.

All our courses can lead to a nationally recognised qualification, although entry is not obligatory.
