2. Course description Explore and develop your creative, technical and professional skills to prepare you for a successful future in the work of Technical Theatre. This exciting and highly practical qualification explores a variety of technical theatre roles and responsibilities and gives a solid understanding of the back-stage world of a professional theatre. A mixture of coursework and practical assessment is used, with all written assignments embedded into your practical work. You may be asked to research designers, specific era in history, working practices and methods. You may be asked to write a log or diary of your creative process. The course also will explore a range of opportunities for possible career paths within the Performing Arts industry and equip you for your next step. • Practical technical skills across a wide range of technical aspects. • Preparation for Drama School / University and Professional Interviews. • Exploring the business side of being a freelance and employed technician • Studying a variety of different technical job roles e.g. Lighting, Sound, Set design, Stage Management.
