A five-axis milling machine prototype, multifunction delta robot, 3D printer, balancing bicycle track, electric Bath Mat - these and many other VGTU students graduation theses works are good examples of Mechanics Engineering and Production Engineering and Management graduates' abilities.
Mechanics Engineering studies provide knowledge of various, not very complex, mechanical gear design, production and application, while the expanded Production Engineering and Management studies add to the development of production organization skills.
Students of this study programme acquire IT and advanced technology innovation application skills. They are able to understand the most important production and engineering processes, and are able to analyze and solve production technology and management tasks.
Similar to mechatronics engineers, the students of this study programme learn to design and exploit mechanical technology equipment and machines. These machines are used for the production of various goods to satisfy the consumers' needs. However, production engineering and management specialists additionally are able to develop production technological processes and management principles, e.g.a specific enterprise that will produce the mentioned equipment.
The graduates of Industrial Enterprises Management specialization acquire comprehensive knowledge of company management in the field of marketing, quality control, distribution, etc., and have enough skills to implement advanced technologies, found new enterprises.
Industrial Technology specialization students learn to develop technological processes, justify them economically, and organize their operation. The specialists in this field (when establishing a new company) are able to select and complement new equipment, ensure the equipment produced by different manufacturers is compatible.
