2. Course description Access To Higher Education Diplomas are designed to help mature learners - those who have been out of education for a number of years - to pick up all the necessary skills and qualifications they need to continue onto a university degree. If you've ever thought about a career in law or criminology, then this could be the diploma for you. You'll focus on three core modules: law, criminology and psychology. In each, you'll study a number of different topics that will lay the foundations for a future degree and career in the subject. You'll take a wide look at the legal profession, including topics like contract law, criminal procedure and policy powers. As well as learning about the importance of forensic evidence and what this actually entails, you'll also look at different theories about why crime is committed. In psychology, you'll study topics that include early social development and aggression. Each unit will develop both your knowledge and the learning skills you'll need to be successful at university.
