Introduction:
This is a short intermediate, level 2 course. The course concentrates on teaching students the steps required to create small applets to be embedded within web pages. The course would be beneficial for students who have completed Web Page Design and are looking to enhance their web pages.
Study Mode & Location:
The entire course will be undertaken in a formal but relaxed classroom environment in one of the Information Technology building's computer rooms. The course is delivered using a combination of lectures, short talks, demonstration and examples. The course consists of 5 evening sessions each of 3 hours. However it is strongly recommended that students have access to a computer and the relevant software outside college, in order to practise. Although, for students who do not have access to a computer, time can be allocated in the Edith Rigby Learning Centre.

· Create complete small applets for use in web pages
· Develop testing and debugging skills to the required level
This is an intensive course and students should be prepared to practise the lessons learned outside college.
Assessment:
Students will complete a series of exercises throughout the module, all of which are designed to raise the students competence and skill using computer software.
Careers & Progression Opportunities:
Successful completion of this course can lead to additional units at level 2, Programming courses at level 3 or a HNC/HND or foundation degree.

You may need to have an informal interview with a Adult Admissions Adviser before enrolling on this course.
Many courses have limited places so please enquire as soon as possible. Following interview, the earliest you may enrol is mid-June.
