Course programme

The Progression Centre will provide personalised Learning for two groups of students – Group A and B. Group A is an Entry 2-Level 1 course. Students take Maths and English Functional Skills and qualifications in Problem Solving and Working as a Team. Group B is an L1-2 course. Students take GCSE/Functional Skills Maths and English and an NCFE L1/2 in Career Planning and Independent Study. Students in both groups will have a personal tutor who is there to support them through their year at college. They will work towards personal goals and targets while on the course. Students on this course will work towards personal goals and targets in order to help them progress. It will be possible, for students who are ready, to ‘taste’ vocational areas that they may want to progress to and/or complete a work placement. Students are assessed in class and will produce a portfolio to gain their qualifications. Students will sit assessments for English and Maths at Entry level. At Level 1 and above, students will need to sit externally set exams. The course will be delivered at Park Lane Campus, Park Lane, Leeds, LS3 1AA Students can progress onto higher level courses in the college, to an apprenticeship or into employment.
