The promoter deals with the promotion of products, services, events and initiatives of various kinds. His business is part of direct marketing and sales, and is usually called upon to carry out promotional activities at the launch of a new product or brand, for inaugurations and new openings, or on the occasion of events and initiatives such as exhibitions, fairs. , concerts, fundraisers. Many sectors rely on the work of promoters to meet customers: food & beverage, IT and electronics, fashion, beauty and personal care, sports, banking, telephony and telecommunications. Typically the promoter works in points of sale, supermarkets, shopping centers and fairs, usually at a stand (in-store promotion), or outdoors in very crowded places such as streets, squares, stations and airports (out-store promotion). The main activity of the promoter is to approach customers or passers-by for attempted sales and face-to-face promotion: the promoter illustrates the products or the brand (and possibly proposes a proof) in order to guide customers to purchase, provides information on events and initiatives, distributes flyers, gifts and gadgets. In some cases, the visibility of the stand is exploited for the collection of contacts and lead generation activities: the promoter's task is to have the user fill in a registration form, or make an appointment or a reservation. Promoters are also required in the non-profit sector, in particular for fundraising in favor of non-profit organizations and NGOs:
