The role of the proofreader carries a lot of responsibility, but usually very little support or credit. Many people assume that anyone can proofread. But there is much more involved in proofreading than correcting errors in written material including concentration, a thorough knowledge of grammar and usage and the ability to read critically. The aim of this course is to help proofreaders ensure that every piece of writing is correct, consistent and ready for publication.
