The proofreader takes care of eliminating typos and other errors from a written text, with the freedom to freely intervene on the contents before they are published on paper and / or online, so that the final product is of high quality and visually satisfying. In publishing, a draft is the proof of an original text. It is printed on one side of the page only, with large margins for corrections of typos and other typing errors. The proofreader compares the original text with the proof and highlights the errors in the proof by means of conventional marks added in the margin [2]. The errors object of the correction do not concern only the typographical errors, but also include the typographical aspect proper, that is to say: indented lines, italics, small caps, use of bold and any other indication to give an editorial aspect to the text. After the author's scrutiny, the draft is then returned to the printer, which corrects the errors reported. Proofreading is therefore part of the journalism and publishing professions. Usually, in fact, it is the editor who carries out this work, whether it be books or newspapers. However, proofreading also takes place in other areas.
