his is a comprehensive, 10-module home study introduction to proofreading. It is ideally suited to students who are new to the publishing industry, offering an overview of the publishing process and the freelance's role within it, and introducing basic proofreading and copy-editing techniques. It also considers where and how to find clients, and guides you step-by-step through the process of setting up as a freelance. At the end of each module is a practical assignment designed to help you develop your proofreading and editing skills. The course fee includes course book - Freelance Proofreading and Copyediting: A Guide.

Other subjects covered include: proofreading symbols and how to use them; guide to grammar and style; and how the publishing industry works.
