This Build your own MA (BYOMA) short course is aimed at people in the learning industry who have a particular interest in developing e-learning and online learning courses and programmes.
The Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) is now an established part of education in schools colleges and universities. In addition, new types of online provision and delivery, such as the Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) are re-shaping the global education landscape. Now with the advent of higher bandwidth broadband, there are new opportunities for developing new programmes to engage distance and part-time learners, as well as new challenges.
Drawing on a decade’s experience of delivering e-learning programmes across the world, the UK’s only Centre for Excellence in Media Practice (CEMP) will support you in creating your own suite of teaching materials, combined with effective pedagogy, which can be used in new media environments in a variety of learning contexts.
This short course aims to equip you with the appropriate pedagogy to transform your teaching practice into e-learning and online learning opportunities. You will evaluate the deployment and use of online learning environments; scrutinise policy material underpinning e-learning in schools, colleges and universities; and identify and analyse effective pedagogy which can support new e-learning and online learning opportunities.
In this short course you will be exposed to the latest research in relation to creative pedagogy and the use of technology in learning. You will encounter a range of experts in your field, and new research methodologies and ideas.
