A degree in Psychology can lead to specialising in Clinical, Educational, or Organisational Psychology. It may be useful for other occupations including Nursing, both general and psychiatric, the Social Services, Management and Personnel work.

What is the course about?
A Level Psychology covers a broad range of modern psychology and provides an overview of the subject. It is suitable for students with no prior knowledge of the subject.

AS Level - Year 1
The first year of the course provides an introduction to modern psychology and psychological research. For Unit 1 you will study and undertake four psychological investigations. In Unit 2 you will examine fifteen psychological studies. These are either classic studies in the subject or raise interesting debates and issues.
The AS course covers the following topic areas:
developmental psychology, cognitive psychology, abnormal psychology, physiological psychology and individual psychology.

A2 Level - Year 2
The second year of the course examines the practical applications of psychology and explores the wider issues surrounding psychological research. In Unit 2 you will specialise in two areas of applied psychology: forensic psychology, and health and clinical psychology. In unit 3 you will study a range of perspectives, issues, methods and debates and will study aspects of research design and implementation.
