About this course


Study methods The foundation course includes essential study skills and supervised study. It will give you the chance to explore topics in a non-pressurised group environment. You will have the support of a personal tutor as well as contact with individual academics and a range of academic materials. In the BSc, different psychological theories and ideas are discussed, and courses include both theoretical and practical components. Besides lectures, seminars and tutorials you will participate in ‘lab classes’ and learn how to conduct your own psychology experiments, working with other students. Assessment structure For the BSc, there are assessment periods at the end of each term and at the end of the year. Length

The four-year BSc (Hons) Psychology with Integrated Foundation includes two 12-week foundation level terms, followed by six 12-week terms at BSc (Hons) level, bringing the programme to a total of eight terms.

Additional information

Successful completing the Foundation programme means that you can move automatically onto the BSc if you wish to.

The BSc (Hons) Psychology combines theoretical and practical components and builds research skills across the three years, culminating in the final year double-module Research Project.

A careful balance of core and elective modules allows you to gain a thorough grounding in the essential basics of the discipline, in Years 1-2, prior to specialising and pursuing individual interests in Years 2-3.
