About the Course
AS Psychology looks at six major perspectives on Psychology:-
- The learning approach - about how animals and people acquire new behaviours.
- The psychodynamic approach - about the effects of our early experiences and the unconscious mind on our behaviour.
- The cognitive and cognitive-developmental approaches - about how we think and remember and how these skills change with age.
- The physiological approach - about the biology of our brain and behaviour.
- The social approach about how we interact, think about others and respond to authority.
Within each of these you will study a range of theory and research and look at how the approach has been useful in the real world. You will also get the chance to carry out one piece of psychological research yourself.
