The new further Education teaching/training regulations require teaching and training staff to be registered on new qualification courses at the start of the teaching year in 2008/2009.
Several of the routes to the qualified or associate teacher/trainer status QTLS/ATLS include the need to start the Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector award (PTLLS).
Course Outline: The course consists of 5 sessions usually run on a fortnightly basis, though this may be negotiable, and one to one tutorials as required. To attain the PTLLS award, you are expected to complete a portfolio of work that includes some written assignments and some practice document creation, such as a lesson plan and scheme of work, and deliver a micro-teach session to your peers.
The PTLLS Award will require some hours of self-study and assignment work in the intervening gap between the course programme sessions.

Is within small groups. A programme of learning and assessment to complie a portfolio of evidence of the knowledge and practice of teaching.
Accreditation: City & Guilds 7303/4
Levels: 3 and 4 available
Progression: City & Guilds 7304 (level 4), Level 3/4 Certificate in Teaching in the Life Long Learning Sector (CTLLS) and Level 5 Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (DTLLS)

Meant for:
1. Teachers/Trainers/Tutors in the Lifelong Learning Sector and Adult/ Community Sector
2. Trainers of personnell in commerce, industry, public and voluntary sector or HM Forces
3. Technicians and Support Staff in Further and Adult Eduction part time teachers in Further and Adult Education
Provided they are qualified in the subject they intend to teach (holding an appropriate professional qualification) or are employed in a training/teaching role. The decision as to appropriateness is at the discretion of Rapido Training.
