About this course
All new staff teaching on LSC funded programmes even if working for a private training provider, will be required to hold a teaching qualification. This course has to be taken, as a minimum requirement, by all staff at the start of their career.

Content The course provides an introduction to teaching and training and focuses on practical issues such as presentations and communication skills. It will aid you in developing your working role and give you an opportunity to reflect on your own practice, share ideas with others and have the support of an experienced tutor. Alternatively, we believe most tutors will wish to achieve the Diploma (DTLLS) which is required before you can achieve Full Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS). This can be studied at Tresham on a two year part-time basis either in the evening or in the day. Progression From PTTLS you can progress to the Certificate (CTLLS) which qualifies you to be an Associate teacher. Alternatively, we believe most tutors will wish to achieve the Diploma (DTLLS) which enables you to achieve Full Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS).
