In this module you will explore the contemporary challenges in the design and delivery of appropriate public services within a climate of changing demographics and an emphasis on user involvement and user empowerment.You will participate in sessions designed to look at the nature and complexity of policy making and the relevant theories that underpin policy development and implementation.You will explore policy drivers and political initiatives to understand what these are and how they operate using examples from public sector practice and using an enquiry-based learning approach. The module is open to all students registered on a relevant degree programme. The module can also be taken as a stand-alone CPD module. For students who have not previously studied at HE level 2 or level 3, an interview will be required.
Work/Clinical Placement Requirements
- You must be working in a suitable practice area.
For those students whose first language is not English one of the following qualifications is also required:
- IELTS: 7.0
Please note that due to changes in the UKVI's list of SELTs we are no longer able to accept TOEFL as evidence of English language for students who require a CAS as of April 2014.
