Entry requirements:
Students should have at least one of the following:

  • a BTEC First in a related subject
  • an Intermediate GNVQ in a related subject
  • at least five GCSEs at grades A*-C, including English Language

Course assessment:
18 units will be studied over two years. Nine in the first and nine in the second. There are no formal exams but you will be expected to provide evidence of learning through various differing types of assignment such as practical interviews or leading teams.

What will I learn?
The course is a detailed look into the unique working environment of the various Uniformed Public Services. You will get hands on practical experience and look at the Services from all different angles ranging from the psychological aspects, leading teams, government and politics and health and fitness. By the time you've completed this course you will almost certainly be ready for the entry process in your chosen public service.
