Course programme
The aim
To show how to give clear and effective presentations.
About the programme
Presenting is never easy. Some people panic, others do nothing and are totally unprepared on the day. This humorous drama shows over-confident high flier Sylvester Drysdale (Griff Rhys Jones) in the bar with his mates on the night before an important presentation, while his worrying alter-ego (also played by Griff) is researching unimportant details.
Neither is prepared for the presentation, as they discover when they finally get together for a run through. Luckily, the hotel caretaker has some helpful tips about rehearsing, researching their audience, working out what to say and structuring their presentation. He shows them how to deliver the message, project confidence, and understand and use visual aids and other techniques.
The easy-to-follow structure of the programme is applicable to any group. It helps individuals to 'Get ready' - know who they are speaking to and why; 'Get steady' by structuring their presentation; and 'Go' by projecting themselves confidently.
The programme includes a session starter, useful as an icebreaker, in which Mel gives advice to Griff to help him overcome his pre-speech nerves.
The key outcomes
-Gives even the most inexperienced people the skills and confidence to prepare and deliver better presentations
-Ensures clear messages are delivered during presentations
Programme includes:
Ready, steady, go - DVD
(25 minutes) and booklet
Best man's speech - DVD
(3 minutes)
Information:
A Playback production.
