This module forms an introduction to systems theory and aims to explore how systemic ideas and theories might be used to support the development of the participant in their practice context. It is recognised that a key systemic process is to consider how context affect our relationships.
About this course
On completion of this course you should be able to:
Critically analyse systemic approaches to families and other relationships and systems.
Critique the concept of a family life cycle perspective and its application to different family forms.
Critically consider the impact of the wider social context especially in respect of race, class, religion, culture, gender, sexual orientation, age and disability in relation to practice.
Comprehensively analyse the implications of adherence to Association for Family Therapy's Code of Ethics and Practice for both individuals and organisations.
This module will help you consider basic systems theory to apply to your practice and develop a deeper understanding to your own stance to practice.
