This course would appeal to anyone interested in religion, religious concepts and how religious beliefs are involved with contemporary moral problems. You must have at least a Grade D in GCSE English.

What are the main features of this course?
This is a one year GCSE course which is divided into two halves. The first half looks at the 'big questions' - the nature of God, the nature of belief, the problem of evil and beliefs about life after death. The second half looks at, from a religious perspective, issues in medical ethics, the concepts of power, equality and justice, and the reality of poverty. In the past, given the nature of the class, the issues have been approached from an Islamic perspective.
How is the course assessed?
There are two examinations each lasting two hours. The examinations take place in June.
