Course programme

Smart Energy and Environmental Training are offering an Introductory Overview to the RETScreen® Software.

This one day course will help you to understand the full scope of the analysis potential of this FREE product. You will learn how to assess the various financial and environmental impacts of a wide range of Renewable and Energy Efficient Technologies thus enabling to cost out potential projects for you and your clients. With the introduction of Feed in Tariffs and the upcoming Renewable Heat Incentives, renewable energy is no longer just the right thing to do for the environment, it is also the financially sensible thing to do. Our introductory workshop will assist candidates with RETScreen version 4 software create realistic models to estimate energy production and provide financial credibility to sustainable projects.

The software gives detailed results, but these are only as accurate as the inputs that go into them, therefore, in addition to helping participants navigate through the software, the workshop will also explain where the figures are derived and how they may change from model to model. We will also look how to incorporate energy efficiency models to assist in the decision making process for building retrofit projects. Current financial metrics, such as incentive programs and tax breaks related to clean energy projects are integral to the workshop.

Candidates are then able to progress to specific modules for their chosen technology.

These modules give more detailed training on energy specific products, please see course below for more details.
