What will you be learning?
Retail Operations NVQs are aimed at people in regular work experience or employment in the retail sector.

This qualification is about working in a retail environment. You will find it appropriate if you are already familiar with basic retail skills and require recognition of a wider range of abilities in retailing.

This qualification is very flexible in its structure enabling the organisation and individual to choose the optional units which best suit their work situation and job role. To achieve the full award, candidates must complete 6 units including 1 mandatory units and 5 optional units.

You will be assessed by a portfolio of evidence.

What happens when you have finished?
After successful completion, you can progress onto a Level 3 qualification.

You may not have to pay this tuition fee if:

• You are unemployed and in receipt of Jobseekers Allowance (contribution-based)
• You are in receipt of, or are an un-waged dependent of someone currently in receipt of any of the following "income-based" benefits:
  • Income-based Jobseekers Allowance (JSA)
  • Income-related Employments and Support ALlowance (ESA)
  • Income Support
  • Working Tax Credit (your assessed household income needs to be less than 15,276 per year (amount subject to change)
  • Housing Benefit
  • Council Tax Benefit (excluding the 25% single person reduction)
  • Pension Credit - Guaranteed only
• You are studying for your
  
  first full Level 2 qualification, whatever your age.
• You are aged 19-24 on the 31st of August prior to the start of your course and studying for your
  
  first full Level 3 qualification, whatever your age.
