Retail Skills NVQ 2

Who is the course for?

The NVQ Level 2 in Retail Skills is for people working in retail who hold some responsibility and who carry out a range of activities, for example, experienced sales assistants.

How will this course benefit my business and staff?

This course results in noticeable changes to customer care, increased accuracy for forecasting, reduced costs by repeat business and profit sales target achieved. Improvements in staff morale will result in a positive attitude within team members.

How is the course structured?

To achieve the full award: Learners must be assessed for one mandatory unit plus five optional units, making a total of six units. For each unit, we offer one day’s training. The training is optional: you can attend any or none of the days, according to your business needs. Assessment is required to complete the qualification, with the following requirements for learners:

  • 3 hours induction in your workplace
  • 15 hours assessment in your workplace
  • Portfolio building in your workplace

Mandatory and Optional Units

MANDATORY UNIT

  • UNIT 1 (Unit E19) Work effectively in your retail team.
  • OPTIONAL UNITS (Please not this is only a selection of the optional units available in this award)
  • UNIT 2 (Unit C3) Help customers choose products in a retail environment
  • UNIT 3 (Unit C4) Maximise product sales in a retail environment
  • UNIT 4 (Unit C5) Provide information and advice to customers in a retail environment
  • UNIT 5 (Unit C6) Demonstrate products to customers in a retail environment
  • UNIT 6 (Unit C12) Promote loyalty schemes to customers in a retail environment.

Training can be delivered in your workplace.

How long does it take to complete the course?

To complete the full NVQ, including assessment, it takes approximately 6 months. Training is usually scheduled one day a month.
