The RHS Level 3 qualifications are highly respected within the industry and the academic world. This qualification can provide a route into the horticultural profession. An Ideal qualification to support career development, such as supervisory or management roles.
The course is delivered at our study centre within Birmingham Botanical Gardens. You will be taught by a specialised and highly qualified team.
Subjects covered include:
• Understanding garden survey techniques and design principles
• Understanding the selection and use of landscaping elements in the garden
• Understanding the setting out and construction of landscaping elements in the garden
• Understanding a range of specialist elements in the establishment of garden and urban plantings

Course programme
Entry Requirements
There are no prerequisites for entry to the RHS Level 3 qualification. However, it is strongly recommended that learners have completed a level 2 horticulture qualification or have equivalent experience.
Delivery and Assessment
Each unit will be assessed by a separate written examination covering all learning outcomes specified in the unit. Examinations will be offered twice a year in February and June.
Progression
After completing this Diploma you may progress to a Degree in Horticulture or the RHS Master of Horticulture.
