Who should attend?
The Risk Assessment Level 2 course is an introduction to the principles of risk assessment. It explains why risk assessments are so important and necessary, as well as the legal requirements relating to them. People attending the course will gain an understanding of the process of carrying out a risk assessment. People working in any environment or whom would like a greater understanding in the need to become risk aware should attend this course.

About this course

On successful completion of the course, the delegate will receive a Risk Assessment Level 2 certificate. I have been a trainer for 10 years. I train a variety of subjects, including security, licensing, first aid and teacher training. I have worked in the security industry for over 20 years, in various disciplines, including Close Protection, Door Supervision and as a CCTV operative. I utilise a variety of training techniques to ensure every learner feels included within the classroom environment.

Course content:
  • An understanding why risk assessments are necessary for maintaining and improving standards of health & safety at work.
  • The moral, legal and economic reasons for preventing accidents and ill health at work.
  • The role of risk assessment in accident and ill health prevention.
  • The main causes of work related fatalities.
  • The definition of key terms associated with risk assessment in the context of health and safety at work.
  • An understanding of the principles of risk assessment.
  • The legal requirements for risk assessment.
  • The process for undertaking a risk assessment
How the qualification is assessed:

The course is run at our training venue for 1 day. This qualification is assessed through a 20 question, multiple choice examination. The duration of the examination is 20 minutes and to successfully pass you must achieve a score of at least 13 out of 20.
