Who should attend?
The Risk Assessment Level 3 course is aimed at people who have a responsibility to conduct risk assessments at low risk premises. The course covers the principles of risk assessment, the relationship between hazard and risk, and requires learners to use the knowledge learned on the course to conduct a risk assessment. This will lay down a foundation for further development as a risk assessor.

About this course
No previous experience or qualifications are necessary. It is advised that learners already hold the Health and Safety Level 2 award or the Risk Assessment Level 2 award.
On successful completion of the course, the delegate will receive a Risk Assessment Level 3 certificate. Dynamo Concise Training also offer continuous support once you have qualified, including information about changes in law, regular newsletters and discounted prices on further courses as well as refresher courses. This course has a credit level of 2 on the QCF framework.

I have been a trainer for 10 years. I train a variety of subjects, including security, licensing, first aid and teacher training. I have worked in the security industry for over 20 years, in various disciplines, including Close Protection, Door Supervision and as a CCTV operative. I utilise a variety of training techniques to ensure every learner feels included within the classroom environment.
Course programme
- An understanding of the importance of health and safety in the workplace.
- An understanding of the principles involved in risk assessment.
- The relationship between hazard and risk as part of an accident and ill health prevention strategy.
- How to apply the hierarchy of controls to control risk to an acceptable level.
- Outline who may be at risk from work related hazards.
- Undertake a risk assessment to demonstrate ability.
- How to apply the knowledge of the risk assessment process in the workplace.
- Identify a range of control measures for different workplace hazards.
- To determine if current controls are effective, suitable and efficient in terms of risk.
- A description of legislation in relation to risk assessment.
- An understanding of duties & responsibilities of employers, employees & others.
- The penalties for non-compliance in health and safety legislation.
The course is run at our training venue for 2 days. This qualification is assessed in two ways. Firstly a 30-question, multiple-choice examination. The duration of the examination is 60 minutes and to successfully pass you must achieve a score of at least 20 out of 30. Secondly, learners will undertake a risk assessment in an appropriate workplace and record their results onto a risk assessment. The risk assessment will be internally assessed by Dynamo Concise Training and once completed to the required standard, will be sent off to be marked.
