Routes Into Dance and Drama Level 1 LocationCranford Avenue Course Overview Apply Now The Routes Into Courses are Foundation Learning programmes designed to equip young people with the skills needed to start their career. The main aim is to help learners progress onto an apprenticeship, further learning or employment. You will be motivated to achieve by developing your knowledge within a vocational area whilst studying for Functional Skills qualifications (Maths, English and ICT). You will also work towards achieving the NOCN Level 1 Certificate in Skills for Employment, Training and Personal Development. Course programme

There are no formal entry requirements for this course. All learners must be 16 - 19 and will be asked to attend an interview and to undertake initial assessments. You should be committed to improving your own skills and be willing to work as part of a team. Course Content • NOCN Level 1 Certificate in Skills for Employment, Training and Personal Development. • Functional Skills (English, Maths and ICT) If you are interested in a subject that does not appear on this list please contact one of the course tutors to discuss this further. Other Level 1 courses are available (please see the college website or prospectus) and other Routes Into courses may be added where there is an identified need. How will I be assessed? Students are assessed through coursework, which will be completed during lessons. Functional Skills in English, Maths and ICT are assessed through formal exams, which can be taken when the student is ready. Progression This course will equip you with the necessary skills for progressing to a Level 2 Diploma. Fees • If you are aged 16-18 as of 31st August on the year of enrolment - no course fee • If you are over 19 as of 31st August and enrolling on a full-time programme of study a tuition fee will be applicable in most cases, please contact us for full information. Rehabilitation of offenders: To help us look after students and assess risks, you will be asked to declare any unspent criminal convictions when you apply to do a course at Weymouth College.
