So how do you ensure that attendees are engaged; motivated; and open, such that meeting objectives can be met?
In truth, most of us do much of the appropriate preparation work around meetings the majority of the time. However it is what gets missed that reduces the effective outputs from those meetings.
This short session works well in tandem with the Influencing Session. It is equally relevant for those who both attend and who manage meetings. It focuses on the best and worst practice of planning, execution and contribution within meetings.
Benefits to you:
- Prepare, run and manage output (post-meeting) in an effective and respectful manner
- Understanding that how personalities and decisions are managed in meetings is at least as important as the outputs
- Become a more effective participant while both running and attending meetings
- Develop understanding and appreciation of colleagues and their issues
- Understanding that running swift, smart meetings will more often meet your objectives
- Acknowledging that attendee engagement to any meeting is as critical a currency as the detail of what is discussed
- Establishing and avoiding meeting ''destroyers'' assertively
- Developing through negotiation, clear outcomes for meetings
- Generating agreement and action from all who attend
- Managing relevant and workable minutes that are focused on outcomes
